CHILDREN

I originally trained as a child psychologist, specializing in adolescents.  While I work with children of all ages, most of my young clients are roughly aged 8 or older and able to express themselves verbally.

In general, the younger the client, the more actively the parents must be involved in the treatment process.  As the child moves through adolescence, he or she increasingly determines the course and goals of treatment, and it may be less necessary for the parents to be involved.

While qualified to do so, I no longer provides psychological testing or psychoeducational evaluations.  I do provide broad psychological assessments (i.e. psychological explanations, written or verbal, to the question "What is going on?").

In cases of parental separation or divorce, please note that I require written consent for treatment from both parents prior to seeing a child under the age of 16.
